James A. Fitzsimmons e la storia editoriale di «Art International»

This project aims to retrace the figure of James A. Fitzsimmons, as a critic and founder of «Art International». At the same time, it documents the history of the magazine; focusing on how it becomes one of the most important periodical of the international art world. The thesis is divided in four chapters: the first one concerns the current studies of the issue; the second one is dedicated to Fitzsimmons as artist and critic for «The Art Digest» e ««Arts&Architecture»»; the third chapter is about «European Art This Month» and the early stage of «Art International»; the last one deals with analyzing the internal logic and some topics of «Art International» magazine.
