The Global Thucydides project offers the first comprehensive mapping of Thucydides’ receptions on a global scale. It explores the contexts, modes, and motivations that made Thucydides a subject of enduring scholarly interest and a shared cultural reference worldwide. The present volume, which collects papers originally presented at the conference held at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in September 2024, focuses on four macro-regions: the Balkans and Eastern Europe; Iran and the Caucasus; India and East Asia; and South America.
