This chapter explores the interaction between the 1970 UNESCO Convention and the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention in the protection against unlawful trafficking and illegal exportation of cultural heritage objects. Special attention is also paid to the contribution given by relevant UN Security Council resolutions in order to reinforce existing obligations under the above mentioned conventions.
