Abstract
The article intends to offer an overview of theatrical translations at the dawn of the XX century, a period of great ferment for translators and also authors (among others, I. Vojnovic, Ante Tresić Pavičić) who often published their personal versions. The Italian cultural policy of the early Century, still attentive to the political commitment, gradually assumed the connotations of fascist ideological propaganda between the two world wars. In the predominance of national values, Italy looked with particular favour at those foreign authors who had always paid love and admiration for our country, for whom Italy represented an awaited (but ignored) opportunity to see their works represented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
