Abstract
Clarifying the role of design between architecture and the city, reacting to the progressive decline of its civil responsibility, validating its both technical and ethical implications lead us to reflect on the mechanisms of a design action which more than ever today should tend to raise the rate of structure in the formal, material and physiological body of the city understood as a phenomenon of public interest. The book opens to a reflection on the architectural discipline, which therefore can only be called urban, developed over time by a research group of the University of Parma through a critical-methodological path alternative to the prevailing rhetoric today. Those who would see the city as an outdated identity phenomenon and therefore reducible to a showcase of a self-referential architecture, oriented towards cybernetic functionalism, the fetishism of design or the simulacrum of sustainability, between consumerism and communication within an undifferentiated settlement space except for speculative purposes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
