This edited volume examines contemporary antispeciesist movements and debates on animal liberation in Italy. Combining theoretical reflections and activist perspectives, the book explores emerging trends within animal advocacy, including veganism, digital activism, critiques of ethical consumption, and intersections with broader struggles against capitalism, sexism, racism and environmental exploitation. The contributors analyze how animal liberation movements interact with social movements, political actors and public discourse, highlighting tensions between radical antispeciesist perspectives and more moderate forms of animal advocacy. The volume proposes an interdisciplinary dialogue between activism, sociology and critical theory.
