To reproduce sediment transport phenomena occurring in rivers and in coastal zones or over land due to wind action, it is necessary to introduce modelling criteria for deriving the scales of the sediment transport variables, such as sediment flow rate, sediment diameter, and sediment specific weight. The physical models that reproduce sediment transport are named movable-bed models because the water or air stream is in contact with physical boundaries (the bed) susceptible to erosion or deposition of sediments.

Abstract

To reproduce sediment transport phenomena occurring in rivers and in coastal zones or over land due to wind action, it is necessary to introduce modelling criteria for deriving the scales of the sediment transport variables, such as sediment flow rate, sediment diameter, and sediment specific weight. The physical models that reproduce sediment transport are named movable-bed models because the water or air stream is in contact with physical boundaries (the bed) susceptible to erosion or deposition of sediments.
