Engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) occupy the first step for the novel field of nanomedicine, in terms of selection, tests, safety, and scalability of a proper nanocarrier. In this chapter, we highlighted the nanomedicine that does not exist without nanotoxicity, focusing then our attention in the fields of the two most causes of death worldwide that is, cardiovascular disease and cancer. Afterward, we discussed how ENMs are capable to increase the quality, the sensibility, and the outcomes for imaging-guided and regenerative nanomedicine. Finally, we took into consideration how ENMs for therapeutic purposes will open a new avenue of investigation for personalized and engineered medicine, with a proposed future outlook for both fields.
