Una strategia complessiva di sicurezza stradale per l'Europa Centrale

The project “Save our Lives – A Comprehensive Road Safety Strategy for Central Europe” (SOL) is supporting twelve pilot communities in eight countries in the Central Europe region to strengthen their approaches to road safety and sustainable mobility in order to prevent death and injury caused by road crashes. It aims at reducing road fatalities and increasing awareness of the level of road trauma by improving the transnational cooperation in the field of road safety within the Central Europe Space. In Italy the SOL project focuses on the four provinces of East Lombardy (Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona and Mantova), that are among the most dynamic transport realities of the country: analysing road accidents data per region in the time period 2000-2009, made available by the national institute for statistics ISTAT, it emerges clearly that Lombardy is affected by a higher number of road accidents than the surrounding regions of northern Italy.
