Abstract

A newly published and very fragmentary inscription from the museum of Thyrio, containing an oath exchanged between Ambraciots and Acarnanians with Amphilochians, raises the problem of the relations between the States bordering the Gulf of Arta in the 4th century B.C. This article discusses the editors' reconstruction and suggests, in addition to a possible new integration of the line 7 of the inscription, a different historical context in which to place the document.
