The article reflects on the meaning, function, and methodological process of identifying good practices in education, through the shared construction of criteria and indicators whom have value because different panels of experts (both scholars and practitioners) have given value. This is made by a case study on the evaluation of MLE in Italian elementary schools. The output of this study is a framework of 35 indicators, which may serve to support teacher trainings as well as the monitoring and (self-)evaluation of teachers’ MLE work.
