In no way can Camille Mauclair be considered a dramatist. The unique drama he wrote, which is analysed in the present essay recurring to Greimas's "schéma actantiel", is "Le Génie est un crime". It focalizes a theme which is particularly important for Mauclair, that is to say the relationship existing between the artist and the writer and the bourgeios society in which he lives, that constantly refuses him.
