Abstract – The features of approximation as a topic of Italian programmes from 2007 on are presented and their relevance is emphasised. For investigating if today the topic is customary we administered a questionnaire. It showed us that the topic is not ‘popular’ mainly among teachers of higher secondary school. We suppose that it is a consequence of a teachers’ scarce knowledge the topic and the necessity of a change of ‘point of view’ in the meaning of Vandebrouck (2011).
