This work focuses on the complex phenomenon of the extracellular electrograms fractionation, due to the presence of discontinuities in the conductivity properties of the cardiac tissue. Numerical simulations may help to understand the role of the membrane ionic currents and of the changes in cellular coupling on the formation of conduction blocks and fractionation.

Abstract
