Rehabilitation of raptors

The past century's industrialisation and overcrowding greatly worsened the impact of human activity on the welfare of wildlife, revealing a negative scenario: for instance, birds of prey are harmed by a wide range of causes, including persecution by man, hunting and poaching, ingestion of lead shot, collision with vehicles, feeding on prey contaminated with pesticides, egg stealing. Fortunately, growing concern for wildlife and an understanding of the necessity to preserve natural habitats has followed. The rehabilitation of birds of prey is a consequence of this concern.
