Raptor rehabilitation and behavior after release

Birds of prey, i.e. hawks and owls, are very vulnerable birds. One reason is that they have been seen as competitors or as danger by humans for long time, leading to persecute them. In addition, they occupy the top trophic levels, those devoted to predators or super predators, i.e. predator of other predators, and consequently their number is limited; moreover, they have the ecological tendency to concentrate in their body the noxious substances that are going accumulating in the lower levels by animals of the trophic chain’s intermediate positions and are then more affected by poisons than other species.
