The present paper aims at discussing the possible presence of what seems to be, at least according to the extant Latin sources available, a genuine Catullan word – multiuola – in the later Latin translation of the Greek version of the Book of ben Sira. From linguistic and literary examination of Catullus 68 the possibility of some form of direct link between the two texts is here presented.
