Il progetto di architettura nelle scuole europee / The architectural project in european school

The essay introduces the comparative section on design teaching in European schools of architecture, coordinated by the author through a survey of eleven European universities (Napoli Federico II, METU Ankara, FAUP Porto, Maastricht University, Aristotle University Thessaloniki, ETSA Donostia-San Sebastián, Politecnico di Torino, University of Parma, Münster School of Architecture, University of Palermo). The text reflects on the convergences and divergences in design teaching methods across different European disciplinary traditions, analysing didactic paradigms — from first-year workshops to experiences of coordination between design courses — and the role of the city as a founding theme of architectural education. The essay continues the author's theoretical research on the transmissibility of architectural culture and the identity of European schools of architecture.
