Lessons of International Industrial Economics

After a short analysis of the main instruments for the analysis of the industrial economics, the text deals with the assessment of the theories explaining the behaviour of multinational enterprises and global value chains, looking at the results of the empirical analysis concerning European firms (the Efige dataset). Secondly, the text considers the replies of the national states to the role of the multinational enterprises in the case of industrial policies, particularly policies aiming at attracting foreign investments. Third, the text aims at discussing the rules of WTO concerning foreign investments, particularly in the case of green industrial policies.
