Between 2007 and 2009, the DICATeA of the University of Parma was called to carry out an accurate architectural survey at the Citadel of Damascus (Syria), after the award of two international calls for tender. Among the measured buildings, the Tower 8 was particularly interesting, as characterized by atypical geometric, expressive and perceptive aspects, if compared to western reality. This text is intended to illustrate the experience carried out and to show the results that the survey, meant here in its widest sense, has allowed us to achieve.

Abstract
Between 2007 and 2009, the DICATeA of the University of Parma was called to carry out an accurate architectural survey at the Citadel of Damascus (Syria), after the award of two international calls for tender. Among the measured buildings, the Tower 8 was particularly interesting, as characterized by atypical geometric, expressive and perceptive aspects, if compared to western reality. This text is intended to illustrate the experience carried out and to show the results that the survey, meant here in its widest sense, has allowed us to achieve.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
