This paper focuses on the reconstruction of Forum Popili (Romagna, IT) during the Augustan age as an expression of the new building policy promoted by Augustus in the cities of ancient Italy. It examines the evolution of Forum Popili in the time of Augustus in terms of topography and urban planning. Particular attention is given to the adaptation of the town plan, to the strengthening of domestic and funerary building types and to infrastructural interventions. The forma of the Augustan city is finally investigated as a propaganda instrument for the new Golden Age inaugurated by Augustus.
