Sunlight-exposure induces local immunosuppression, thus favourig the development of skin cancer. We studied the different immuno- cells subsets in unexposed versus exposed human skin. We suggest that alterations in number and composition of intraepidermal and dermal T cells in abitually sun-exposed skin may be responsible for local immuno-suppression and therefore increased risk in skin cancer.
